| Dwain has recently co-directed with Harry J. Lennix, (Commander-In-Chief, RAY) PERMANENT COLLECTION by Thomas Gibbons for The Robey Theatre Company and Greenway Arts Alliance. After a successful run, the Center Theatre Group, Michael Ritchie, Producing Artistic Director, has announced that PERMANENT COLLECTION by Thomas Gibbons will travel to the Kirk Douglas Theatre as part of the 2006 season. Prior to directing, Dwain recently returned from Chicago's Goodman Theatre where he appeared as Hal in PROOF, directed by Chuck Smith. He has also appeared there in A Raisin in the Sun, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, The Skin of Our Teeth and as Fred in the 1993 production of A Christmas Carol and as Young Scrooge in the 1994 and 1995 productions. Other Chicago credits include Julius Caesar and The Glass Menagerie at the Black Ensemble Theatre, The Last Season at ETA Creative Arts Foundation, and Fathers and Other Strangers at the Chicago Theatre Company. Atlanta credits include Marc Antony in Julius Caesar directed by Harry J. Lennix and as C.C. White in Dreamgirls, both for Jomandi Theatre. Los Angeles credits include Duck in a staged version of the film The Five Heartbeats, also directed by Mr. Lennix and The Last Season for The Robey Theatre and Legacy Productions. |
